Fix-It-Ticket #2

They keep givin' fix-it-tickets so they can meet their quota
"Go fix your brake light and front plate." Hey, do I need to fix my motor?
Please officers, don't waste my time or my patience.
You pullin' me over cause I drive a Honda and happen to be Asian?
But I should take it easy on you guys cause you carry night sticks.
Of course, that's only because you're compensating for your small .

Two Wrongs

One hand on the trigger of the telephone
Wondering when the call comes
You say it's all right
You got your heart right

"All you need is love" is a lie
'Cause we had love but we still said goodbye
Now we're tired, battered fighters

And it stings when it's nobody's fault
Cause there's nothing to blame at the drop of your name
It's only the air you took and the breath you left

There's no substitute for time
Or for the sadness

Leaving NYC

I hope you know you're my favorite thing about the west coast.
So here I am counting down the days 'til California comes.

I've Been Thinking

This past month, especially these past couple days, I have been thinking about a lot of stuff. I'm pretty uncertain about a lot of things. I've been asking myself, "am I living it right?" like John Mayer once asked. I know my life is good, but I don't know if I'm living it like I should. There's stuff that I want to have, but I don't know if it's best for me in the long run. But what about carpe diem? Hamlet's tragic flaw of failing to act. I don't want to be a Hamlet. But patience is also important to master. However, there's a fine line between patience and waiting. Do I have patience or am I just waiting too long or too often? The whole career path that I will be forced to walk down soon is still unclear to me. That freaks me out. Not the starting a career part as much as the initial choosing of what I want to do as a profession. Also 'been thinking about what made/makes me happy, what I have and what's missing. Maybe I have all that I need right now. Maybe I need something else in my life. Everything seemed so different one year ago. I've been trying to weigh in on the pros & cons of the present and this time last year. It's weird thinking back and reflecting, but I find myself doing that a lot. Maybe I need to let go of some stuff or ideas. Maybe I already have and don't want to realize it. There's a lot of stuff to think about. So I'm truly hoping that my two and a half week getaway from Irvine will help sort some stuff out. I'm hoping to come back home refreshed and with a new perspective on things. I'll be surrounded by family, people who love me, and I hope that they will inspire something in me that will make me go "a-ha! I get it now." If I still feel the same way when I come back, then maybe I should look more into what's happening or not happening around me. This might not make any sense to anyone but me, but who cares?

UP

Just saw UP in 3D this morning. It was quite good. Better than Wall-E in my opinion. It was kind of a downer at times though. But Pixar has always done a good job at balancing happy emotions with sad ones. I want an Ellie badge!

Raccoon

I saw a raccoon today. I thought raccoons were nocturnal, but I saw one at 7:00pm when it was still bright outside. It ran across the street while I was pulling up to my friend's house. I almost hit it with my car, but didn't because I was driving at the residential speed limit of 25mph. Once I parked, I went to see where it went so I could take a picture of it with my phone. I then noticed a striped tail and furry animal butt sticking out of the storm drain on the side of the curb. I walked over to it and looked inside the dark entrance to the stanky underground. There it was. Looking back at me with its claws grasping on to the metal steps that lead down to the brown land. It was just chilling there looking at me. I just stood there looking at it. It was cute. I believe it was my first time seeing a wild raccoon. I named him Max. Fin.

I got pulled over

At 11:59pm on Thursday, May 21st.
I was pulled over by a police officer.
It was a male officer.
He was not going for my seductive eyelash fluttering.
No sir, not this officer, not tonight.
He wrote me a ticket.
It took him a while, but he wrote it.
He wrote me a fix-it-ticket.
He said I was cooperative.
He liked that.
I signaled left and drove down Culver.
I drove home.
Sweating in my Kobe jersey.
LAKERS blew it tonight!
WTF!?!?

(m)orning tour

I was able to catch the Mae show at Chain Reaction on May 6. It was a dos decision to go, luckily Em came with me. The opening bands PersonL and Barcelona were pretty impressive. Mae played for about an hour and a half. Their setlist was top notch. They reminded me why they're one of my favorite bands.

8 fingers, 1 thumb

I injured my thumb playing basketball last night.
It hurt to bend it and put any pressure on it.
It was swollen and pink.
I reinjured it playing basketball tonight.
Now it's twice as swollen as it was before.
Now it's purple.
Am I stupid?
Or am I a soldier?
The answer is...

I'm a mother****in' dumbass!

New JM

"Heartbreak Warfare"
Battle Studies
John Mayer

Lightening strikes
inside my chest to keep me up at night
Dream of ways
to make you understand my pain

Clouds of sulfur in the air
Bombs are falling everywhere
It's heartbreak warfare
Once you want it to begin
No one really ever wins
In heartbreak warfare

If you want more love
Why don't you say so
If you want more love
Why don't you say so

Drop his name
push it in and twist the knife again
Watch my face
as I pretend to feel no pain

Clouds of sulfur in the air
Bombs are falling everywhere
It's heartbreak warfare
Once you want it to begin
No one really ever wins
In heartbreak warfare

If you want more love
Why don't you say so
If you want more love
Why don't you say so, just say so

How come the only way to know how high you get me
Is to see how far I fall
God only knows how much I love you if you let me
But I can't break free at all
It's heart, heartbreak

I don't care if we don't sleep at all tonight
Let's just fix this whole thing now
I swear to God we're gonna get it right
If you put your weapons down

Red wine and Ambien
you're talking shit again
It's heartbreak warfare
Good to know it's all a game
Disappointment has a name
It's heartbreak, heartbreak

It's heartbreak warfare
It's heartbreak warfare

(Mayer says Battle Studies will be a concept album focused on "the art of war of love." So basically, if I end up not liking his new cd, I will blame Jennifer Aniston.)

Adidas Crazy 1

These shoes are a 2006 re-release of the Adidas "The Kobe" shoes.
This was Kobe's first real signature shoe with Adidas.
I had two pairs when those were released back in 2000-2001.
I always thought these were the coolest basketball shoes ever.
I still think they're just as cool as I did nearly ten years ago.
Ergo, I bought a pair off of ebay for $54, compared to $100+ retail.

You can call me Neo

It took me two days, which was two days longer than expected, but I finally hacked my MSI Wind Notebook. I was getting kind of scared when it wouldn't boot for two days, but I was confident that it could be fixed. Now that it's successfully running Mac OSX, I love it! It doesn't run 100% like a real mac, but about 95%. Thanks to Emily's authentic MacBook running 10.5.5, I was able to bring the Wind back to life after I broke (my) Wind.

Some problems:
Photobooth doesn't recognize the built in camera.
Internal mic is not recognized.
No two finger scrolling.
Headphones jack doesn't work.

Possible names for my Wind:
HackBook
HackBook Nano
MacBook Nano

Should I give up?

Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
