Sawtelle

Today (saturday, july 12) was a pretty eventful day I guess you could say. The day started with a trip to the gym with the always gorgeous girlfraand. Then my dad and I drove to LAX to pick up my sister Krystle. Once we added her as a passenger in the car, we hung out at this street near LA called Sawtelle. It's basically a street full of Japanese inspired shops, restaurants, and markets. We got our snackage on at Nijiya Market (I think that's what it was called) with some seaweed salad (tastes like a turkey leg at Disneyland, don't ask) and a roll of salmon nigiri. My sister also bought a spicy octopus roll, on accident. She wanted a spicy tuna roll but grabbed the wrong one. Buuust. But it wasn't bad. The salmon was fresh and fatty aka delicious. Then we walked around the street, went into Japanese toy shops and whatnot. Hunger struck again and we ate at this ramen place and ate... ramen. My sister bought a little figurine monster for $9 because she thought it was cute. Fast forward to later that night, my sister was telling the rest of us at home about her trip to Japan. She also bought each member of the fam a souvenir. She bought me a shark hat! It's rad and I will have a lot of fun with it out in public. Photos below:

Blog Worthy: Biggest John Mayer Fan Ever

Okay so it's almost four in the morning and I am wasting my life on YouTube. But who doesn't do that? Anyways, look at this little (well not so little) beauty I stumbled upon. What I wrote in the parentheses in the previous sentence will make since after you watch the following video. It made me laugh out loud more than a couple times.

KB24

I was bored tonight and wondered if I could still produce a decent sketch. I don't remember the last time I really just sat down and drew something. Well I decided to draw the NBA's 2007-2008 MVP, standing 6 foot 6, shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, number 24, Kobe Bryant. You can hate him, but he's pretty darn good.

In Your Atmosphere

quoted from John Mayer's blog:
It's a funny time to be alive right now, in that I'm not quite sure we're celebrating like we should. I don't mean the "Hand me your keys, Dan!" celebrating. I mean the very innate act of celebration; human appreciation. Group reveling. A general sense of "This is my tribe and this is our fellowship." Like a concert.

Chances are you won't get hit by that proverbial bus people always talk about when they're smoking a Lucky Strike and tipping back on their chair. Odds are also on your side (thank God) that you won't ever get the news from your doctor that you have only months left to live. But you know what he may very well tell you? That you need a new hip. Nobody ever says "live it up because someday you might need a new hip" but it's the truth. They don't say "Be good to one another because in time we'll all know a medical lab technician on a first name basis" but it happens every day.

Heroes

We all have them in our lives. We all want to be one. Whether it's hitting the game winning shot, killing the big spider nearing your significant other, or simply being a good role model for others. Heroes. We all need them. I'm just lucky to be considered one of the best.... ever.
